PHDS, as the "Designated Cooperation Enterprise of China" for the "China-US Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperation Program", had its CEO and international business executives attend the "2009 China-US Economic Cooperation Summit" held in Beijing on July 20, 2009, by invitation.

At this meeting, PHDS executives had productive exchanges and discussions with mayors from three important U.S. cities and some business representatives from foreign embassies in China. The U.S. city mayors who met with PHDS executives were: Mr. Robert D. Coble, Vice Mayor of Columbia, U.S.; Ms. Sue Greenward, Mayor of Davis, California; and Mr. Tom Means, Mayor of Mountain View, California. Both sides introduced their cooperation plans and target projects. Through the discussions, both parties gained a preliminary understanding and agreed to continue communication, exchange information, and deepen understanding to achieve substantial progress in cooperation as soon as possible.
At the meeting, PHDS also had friendly talks with business representatives from the Dutch Embassy in China.
This summit was jointly organized by the China-U.S. International Cooperation and Exchange Promotion Association, the Global Small and Medium Enterprises Alliance, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and the National High-Tech City and County Industrial Economic Development Research Center, among other China-U.S. institutions, in Beijing. Attendees included officials from U.S. embassies in China, commercial counselors from Japan and South Korea, the chairman of the Global Small and Medium Enterprises Alliance, the president of the China-U.S. International Cooperation and Exchange Promotion Association, representatives from business associations in Hong Kong and Taiwan, five mayors from South Carolina, California, and other regions, over 30 representatives from U.S. business delegations, as well as leaders from relevant Chinese ministries, local government investment and foreign affairs departments, and hundreds of Chinese entrepreneurs.
The theme of this summit was: jointly exploring how small and medium cities and enterprises in China and the U.S. can achieve mutually beneficial cooperation against the backdrop of the financial crisis. This summit, held against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, carries even greater historical significance. Mainstream media at home and abroad reported on this meeting. The conference was a complete success.
